Just Monkeying Around

Hello party peoples! This has been a week of preparation, and near Leipzig travel. It has been fun, and I hope yours has been too. This will be a short post, but a good one all the same.

I am going to Thursday, as that is when the exciting things started to happen. (You know, other than being in Germany and all). On Thursday we had dinner reservations for a place named Dinner in the Dark. This restaurant served a 4-course meal that was a mystery to us. We were taken to a room that was entirely pitch black where we were served our meals. It was a magical experience to be in a room that could be a massive vault, or just as big as your table and not know.  The food was delectable, and the experience was good.

On Friday our entire group took a trip to the Leipzig Zoo which contains one of the world's leading primate research center. The Zoo has over 50 great apes, many of which are far older than I am. I went bananas for the great apes, and all of their shenanigans. The rest of the Zoo was surprisingly huge. There were elephants, giraffes, lions, bears, a boat ride, spider monkeys, and much, much more.

On Saturday we went to the town of Wittenburg. I was quite excited to go to the town where Martin Luther nailed the 95 theses to the door, and it was only an hour away from Leipzig. We visited the Luther museum that had plenty of Luther's works and possessions. I also learned that his ex-nun wife brewed her own beer. Who knew? We then visited the door where he nailed the 95 theses, which was under construction. While the construction for the 500th anniversary (next year) was a bit disappointing, we got to see the door which was a sight I had wanted to see.

That is all for this week. We begin Spring Break this upcoming Wednesday, and will be back on the 19th. I won't post next Sunday, but will with plenty of stories on the following weekend.

Tschuess!
